The Vision

A vision is the ability to think about the future with imagination.

Acts of the Apostles 2:17 ‘In the last days, God says, ” I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. ”

I had a vision 1 year ago and jotted it down exactly the way I had felt it in my heart and mind. I knew God was speaking to me so I kept my eyes open and my mind alert. A few months later the vision came to pass and it occurred exactly the way I felt it. Today, as I was going through my notes, I saw the imagination I wrote down and it inspired me to write this post.

If a vision is the ability to think about the Future with imagination, that means imagination is vital to our existence. What are you imagining right now? Maybe being a house or a business owner, traveling around the world, becoming a Doctor, an Engineer, whatever it is, give it to God and when you pray about it, be persistent.

Write down the vision. Habakkuk 2:2-3 “Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. 3 The Vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.” Be patient and trust that God will make it happen. If you don’t have a vision yet, ask God to give you one. If He does, watch who you share it with. Not everybody will be happy for you. Some people were never meant to walk into that chapter of your life with you and may kill your vision. Read Genesis 37. Joseph had a dream (vision) and when he told his brothers, they were jealous and hated him more. They even plotted to kill him. Make sure you’re talking to the right people; those who will pray and fast with you and for you and will stand by your side when God unfolds the Vision.

No matter how crazy the imagination may seem, remember that with God everything is achievable.

Have a beautiful day, my friends☺️

Work your Weakness

Being weak is neither a sin nor a punishment. It’s one of the reasons we are here on Earth. God requires us to surrender every area of our lives to Him including our weaknesses.

2. Corinthians 12:9-10 “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10. That´s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

We may struggle with Pride, Jealousy, Communication, Insecurity, Competition, Procrastination, lack of confidence, People pleasing, and much more, to the point that we believe this is a sin and God is not pleased. That’s a lie. It is written in 2. Corinthians 13:4 that “although he was crucified in weakness, he now lives by the power of God. We too, are weak, just as Christ was, but when we deal with you we will be alive with him and will have God’s power.” So long as we have our bodies, we will always be weak. Weakness has a vital role in our purpose. Let’s take a glimpse at our boy, Moses.

Moses had a weakness in speech, Exodus 4. When God told him that he would lead the people of Israel out of Egypt to the promised Land, he said “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” In other words, because he stammered, he didn’t think he was qualified. His brother Aaron became his mouthpiece and God was with them all the way. Later in the Scriptures, Moses parted the Red Sea, led the Israelites out of Egypt, faced Pharao, and did much more despite his weakness. He was faithful and obedient to the Almighty. God not only calls the qualified but he also qualifies the called.

God will not eliminate your weakness. He wants to use it for His Glory. He didn’t take away Moses’ speech impediment but instead made him strong through it. Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you. It’s an indication of spiritual growth when you accept your weakness and work on it. It’s not about perfection but the progression

His Grace is sufficient.

Why is Fasting important?

Fasting means reducing or giving up food for a certain amount of time. It is important to fast because it brings us closer to God, builds our discipline, and expresses our humility.

Psalms 35:13(Kjv) But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; And my prayers returned into mine own blosom. Ezra 8:21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of Him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

We should fast because we want

  • To express repentance
  • To break bad habits
  • To seek Gods guidance
  • To strengthen our prayer
  • To strengthen the Flesh

How can you fast?

Let’s explore the 5 W’s of fasting

  • Why: are you fasting?
  • When: will you fast? you need to plan it
  • Which: meals are you giving up? is it breakfast? lunch? or dinner?
  • Who: are you fasting for? It may be your best friend, your parents, your partner, or yourself
  • what: will you do while fasting? For example; Praying, staying hydrated, Meditating, staying out of trouble, etc.

Begin with 1 meal per day when you start this journey and you may later advance. It doesn’t get easier but it gets better. There will be times when you will be sitting next to people either eating your favorite food or cooking it and you will salivate, but it is in this moment where you should rely on God to strengthen your flesh. The flesh wants a lot of things, the devil will tempt every area of your life just like he did with Jesus during his 40-day fast but remember, He who lives in you is greater than He who is in the world. So you need to pray, read God’s word, rely on Him to be your source of strength, and He will help you overcome temptations.

Mathew 6:16-18(NLT) and when you fast don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get. 17. But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face 18. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Fasting will change your life for the better. Sometimes you will not see the results just like David in 2 Samuel 12:16-20 but maintain the Faith and Hope in your life and let that guide you towards a brighter future.

Light of the world

John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won´t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Jesus is the Light and this Light signifies hope, the kind of hope that we all need in bad and good times.  Darkness on the other side is the trials and tribulations we face in life; the devil’s dwelling place.

You’ve probably heard of, “There’s light(hope) at the end of the tunnel(suffering)” Yes, there is, but it doesn’t have to always be at the end, it can be in the tunnel too; right there beside you if you choose to see it. Think of it this way, if your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, whom you have from God, and God himself is the light, that means that you have the light in you through Him. When you are in a tunnel full of darkness, you don’t need to wait for the end to see the light, see the light while in it no matter how long the tunnel may seem. Don’t give up just because you haven’t seen it yet. Exercise Faith. Baby Faith or Big Faith is still Faith, so long as you have it, God is pleased with you.

If you feel your struggles are too big for God to handle remember that Paul persecuted Christians, David was a murderer, Rehab was a prostitute, Solomon was promiscuous (womanizer) and Elijah was suicidal. They all had a moment of darkness in their lives but despite all that God filled them with light. If you allow God to partner with you, he will do the same, Isiah 9:2.

Be someone else’s light today; bring hope to their lives in whichever way you can. You might be the only Bible the unbelieving friend will ever get to read, so practice sharing the Light just as Jesus did.

May His light shine upon you so bright that the enemies cannot see you, but only hear of you.

Jesus´ first message

Mathew 4:17 (NLT) From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near”

Mark 1:15 (NLT) “The Time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

This was the first message that Jesus Christ preached to the people. This powerful Kingdom message was given to us to stay on the right path even if we go astray. Let’s tackle 2 words from this verse; Repent and Kingdom

To repent means to turn and depart from the people or things that cause you to sin. We live in a world where through cultural influences, sin has become a lifestyle. Drug abuse, fornication, adultery, greed, pride, stealing, and much more, are now the norm. But Jesus died so we can overcome sin. A sinful life is a sad life; It’s full of disappointments, heartbreaks, and short-term enjoyment, and it sometimes leads to chronic illnesses through addiction. But Jesus came so we can turn and depart from these through Him. When you honestly repent, you get access to the everlasting Kingdom and life starts to take beautiful turns that even in hardships, God can help you overcome them all. Nobody is perfect and that’s why we should follow the example of the only person who is, and that is Jesus.

My favorite Bible Verse which is Mathew 6:33 says, but Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. At the beginning of this year, I asked God to show me where my life is headed and he gave me the word Kingdom. I immediately wrote it down, prayed over it, and remembered this verse which opened my eyes. I understood exactly what God wanted me to do for Him to show me the way. My obedience opened doors that nobody can shut. So today, Let your life be all about the Kingdom; seek it every day, share it with your friends, believe it, pray for them, worship together, and above all Love one another. This way you will thrive in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is near, and Jesus will soon be back just as He promised. Will you be ready if that day was today?

Self-Control

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit, part 9

Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23. gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Self-Control is the ability to control your emotions and actions. We’ve all lost it a couple of times and that’s okay. Jesus died so we can repent, forgive because we’ve been forgiven, and get back on track.

The Bible tells us that the tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruits. I learned how to control my mouth and emotions when I realized that He who lives in me is greater than He who is in the world. Understanding how to handle the people who possess the gift of getting on my nerves was the second hardest thing I ever did in my life, so each time our paths crossed I would say this prayer; “Holy Spirit, I know my mouth, so please hold me back. Give me the courage to keep it shut and the strength to run away. Fill me with your peace, self-control, and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” Always pray when you’re about to lose it. You cannot control how people treat you, but you can always control how you react to them. Self-Control is the key and God will always provide a way out when you’re tempted. Read John 16:33 and 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We should also have self-control when it comes to food and money. Avoid being a glutton and spendthrift. If you don’t have control over the earthly things, they will have control over you. Just like the other 8 fruits of the Holy Spirit, let this one be evident in your everyday life.

Let’s strive with the help of God to not only live self-controlled lives but also teach it.

Gentleness

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit, part 8

Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23. gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Gentleness is a fruit that requires patience and calmness, the virtues we need to unleash to maintain our blessings, sanity, and good relationships. There’s a game we used to play in school, where an egg was placed on the spoon and we had to walk with it from one place to the other for about 2-3 minutes. We had to be patient and gentle or the egg would break. Well, it broke most times and we had to clean up the mess. Just like the egg, when you fail to be gentle you’ll make a mess, but being gentle will save you a lot of drama, proverbs 15.1. God has produced this fruit in you, but it’s up to you to put it to use.

Jesus expects us to be gentle and respectful when telling the unbelievers about the Gospel. For some, we might be the only Bible they will ever read, so let’s be responsible for our gentleness and attitude. God tells us in 1 Peter 3:15-16 (NLT) ” Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. 16. But do this gently and respectfully. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ”.

Let’s be gentle with each other, for gentleness is strength under control.

Faithfulness

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit, Part 7

Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23. gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!

We are to be Faithful to God because He is Faithful to us. The Holy Spirit yields this Fruit in us because He wants us to learn to trust that He is in control. This way, we grow spiritually.

It’s all about Trust and Loyalty. It was by Faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land where God would give him his inheritance. Hebrews 11:9. He was Faith-full. Hannah waited faithfully and God gave her a son 1 Samuel 1:19. Choose to be Faithful even in the things you think are little, and watch God fulfill his promises.

Sometimes we can be Faithful and other times we just can’t, due to the challenges we face. But let’s pray for each other and try our best. Remember, being Faithful will take you places hustle won’t.

Have a beautiful Easter💗

Kindness and Goodness

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit, part 5 and 6

Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23. gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Luke 6:35-36 “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. 36. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.

People can be mean. But we don’t get to choose who to be kind to. We are where we are today only because of God’s kindness to us. It is therefore important not to discriminate against those to be kind to. God tells us in the book of Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to each other, tenderhearted, and forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven us. Being Kind is not a sign of your weakness, rather it’s your strength. The strength to ignore your flesh and let the Holy Spirit take control because he has the power.

Kindness is your attitude towards people and things whereas goodness is what you do. The good samaritan took in the man who was attacked and beaten up by robbers and bandaged his wounds, while the priest and the Levite passed by the other roadside. The samaritan was named Good for a reason; he was good and kind. The Priest and the Levite on the other hand were none of these. It doesn’t matter how a person looks or what condition you find them in, if you can do good and show kindness to them, do it. Read James 4:17.

Allow kindness and goodness to be your lifestyle.

Patience

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit, part 4

Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23. gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Elizabeth and I love free wifi, but it gets so annoying when it’s extremely slow or not working at all while I’m in the middle of that movie, and I can’t wait anymore. I thought I had six packs already and the biceps would start to show after just 1 day of visiting the gym. I only wanted immediate results, which was impossible, because good things take time; except for slow wifi.

Patience is the ability to wait without complaining. It is where God gets to develop your character and give you the abilities that will help you manage and sustain the next blessing that you prayed for. Complaining will make you lose the blessing that is right in front of you. It is a lack of Faith. The children of Israel were only supposed to be on that journey for 11 days, but it turned into 40 years, Deuteronomy 1:2. Saul ruined his whole life because of a few hours of impatience and spent a lifetime fighting for what was his, 1 Samuel 13:14. How you wait is very important. It may be very hard to wait, but it is worth it. Do it with Faith, God has your back.  Sarah gave birth at 90 years old, Genesis 17:19. Miracles happen. Hannah struggled with infertility for years, but she was patient and God finally gave her Samuel. 1 Samuel 1:20.

Waiting can make you go crazy. Isiah 40:31. It’s so hard but hey, you don’t have to do it alone. Remember it comes from the Holy Spirit and He is the only one who can help you with it. God has plans for you, there are so many things that He wants you to have but it will take patience for you to receive them. There’s a time for everything Ecclesiastes 3:1. So do not hurry God, for He knows when to pour out your blessings.

Its better to wait, than to wish you had waited.
